Quality system
Quality & Inspection
Quality at Sa&Bar is not only verified at the end of the process — it is monitored at every stage of production, from raw material qualification to casting approval before delivery. Every order is accompanied by a work and inspection order that traces the entire production cycle.
Approach
Process engineering and advanced simulation
To ensure the highest quality standards from the very beginning, we integrate casting simulation into our workflow.
This allows us to accurately predict the behavior of molten metal within the mold, optimizing filling dynamics and solidification parameters.
By identifying potential issues in advance, we can adjust the geometry of the gating and feeding system, ensuring reduced time-to-first sample and consistent quality in series production for the customer.
Certifications
Corporate certifications
UNI EN ISO 9001
Quality management system certification, obtained in 1998 and maintained with periodic audits. Guarantees the conformity of production processes to international standards.
Download certificate PDFLloyd's Register
Lloyd's Register certification obtained in 2011. International recognition of the quality system, with particular relevance for applications in regulated sectors such as marine and industrial.

Our inspections
Every casting is subject to specific checks based on the work order agreed with the client.
Quantometric analysis
Before pouring, the chemical composition of the alloy is verified by quantometric analysis. This ensures that the metal used exactly meets the specifications of the alloy requested by the client, before the casting is even produced.
Dimensional inspection with 3D scanner
Castings are measured with a 3D scanner, which allows the actual geometry of the part to be compared with the reference CAD model. The result is a complete dimensional report, available on client request.
Metallographic analysis
On request and where necessary, we are able to provide castings accompanied by metallographic examination, relying on qualified external laboratories. The service is assessed on a case-by-case basis at quotation stage.
Sand property monitoring
The physical-chemical parameters of the mixture are constantly monitored through dedicated in-house instrumentation. The analyses — granulometric, LOI and cohesion strength — guarantee the stability of the mixture over time, allowing prompt intervention on any variations and reducing process rejects.
The laboratory
Inspection tools and methods
Every tool you see in these images is part of a precise working method — not a list of certifications to show a client. Checking the sand before casting, verifying the alloy composition, measuring the finished part with a 3D scanner: these are standard practice, not exceptions. The result is that our clients receive components that meet their specifications — and if they didn't, we'd know before they do.
